Vocal Journeys Latin America stemmed from the very successful Cuba Singing Adventures tours in collaboration with Cuban Adventures, and was driven by the desire of travelers to experience more of Latin America through singing and music-focused tours. These tours encapsulate the essence of vibrant cultural exchanges and offer myriad opportunities to immerse oneself in different musical traditions across the region, making them not just a travel experience but a journey into the heart and soul of Latin America. With the reliable and experienced Australian company Big Planet Adventures, a member of CATO and ATIA, which are recognized as leading experts, this initiative has flourished, promising high-quality service and deep connections with local communities, ensuring that every participant not only enjoys their journey but also enriches their understanding of Latin American cultures. The experience is meticulously curated by expert tour operators and a Destination Management company that is fully dedicated to providing unmatched travel experiences to the diverse landscapes of Latin America, from the sandy beaches of the Caribbean to the rhythmic streets of Buenos Aires, thus ensuring that each traveler’s experience is unique and unforgettable.

Vocal Journeys Latin America operates in collaboration with Big Planet Operations, a company that has delivered extensive and successful tour leader and guide training for 20 years. With vast experience in training, development, and assessment, our 5-day trainings have been delivered annually, ensuring that a tour leader is prepared for the multiple challenges of hosting guests, managing expectations, and providing the best possible experience.
Sustainable tour leading is also a feature of our training, with a new training module created in 2025 for Responsible Birding for Guides, the first training of its kind.
Other projects for 2026/2027 - We are currently designing a new Tour Leader Training Program with a focus on sustainability.
Tour Leader training
During her early years, a trip to Central America deeply connected the founder, Clarita, with Latin American music and dance. After living in Mexico and being fluent in Spanish, she has engaged with the musical heritage of Latin America for over 25 years, particularly the genres from Cuba. She has collaborated with the Festival of the Caribbean, and the International Festival of Coros in Santiago de Cuba, and has served as a tour manager for various global artists. Besides her extensive background in the creative arts, Clarita has also engaged in the Events, Travel, and Tourism sector with the City of Sydney, the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority, and the International World Youth Day.
As a choir director, vocalist, certified tour & event manager, and a professional in the industry who is passionate about Latin American music and travel, the concept of Vocal Journeys Latin America was born. This initiative aims to support local women-owned businesses, enabling travellers to experience the beauty of local communities and cultures, and to immerse themselves in their distinctive music and vibrant vocal traditions.

The uniqueness of our organization comes from our people. We appreciate everyone we collaborate with and place significant emphasis on local operations as well as women-owned and run businesses. From our tour leaders to guesthouse proprietors; local guides, farmers, tutors, and music instructors; women entrepreneurs, along with local choir directors and singers; each individual plays a vital part in the ethical and sustainable functioning of our operations.
